The Department Launched The 3rd Cohort of Unemployed Agricultural Graduates and a Farmer’s Market
The department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development & Land Reform hosted the launch of the 3rd Cohort of Unemployed Agricultural Graduates as well as a Farmer’s Market today at TBG, Galeshewe in Kimberley.
The objective of this event is to empower unemployed agricultural graduates by offering hands-on training in entrepreneurial and business skills, boost food production by cultivating a skilled group of young producers. Furthermore, it addresses the generational gap in farming, fostering a new generation of farmers and entrepreneurs while tackling unemployment as well as engaging youth in the agricultural value chain and facilitate the establishment of youth-owned enterprises by connecting them with supportive entities.
MEC Manopole and HOD Marais provided words of encouragement to the graduate, emphasizing the department's commitment to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs, farmers, and officials. Fostering this next wave of talent is paramount to the department's mission.
